2 Thessalonians chapter 2
The purpose of this website is to take a look at one of the greatest religious institutions in the world. In prestige and influence, in size and longevity, it presents itself as head and shoulders above all other denominations that call themselves Christian. It believes itself to have received from God the Keys of His Kingdom. To hold doctrines that are without error and through its priesthood to have at its disposal all the means of grace through which God desires to bless his people.
It is the Roman Catholic Church.
This website studies these claims, examines its history, and issues a warning.
I was a convinced Roman Catholic for most of the forty years that I spent within this Church. Many Catholics are in ignorance concerning the genesis of the doctrines and practises that define Catholicism. Most have no basis in Holy Scripture. Many have their origins in paganism. Evangelical Protestants are also ignorant of what this Church represents. Which is why so many evangelical leaders are pressing for closer ties of union with this institution. The questions concerning what and who this Church is, how it arose, and whose purposes it serves I attempt to answer.
It is with regret that this involves speaking ill of that which is devotedly loved by huge numbers of good and decent people.
